Q: How do I join the RPFFA?

A: You must be an active or retired firefighter who is or was employed by the City of Raleigh Fire Department, in Raleigh, NC. Call your Shift Representative or any other board member. (see the Board Members tab)  They will send you, via email, the membership enrollment form as well the member's benefit insurance beneficiary form. For retired Raleigh firefighters only: You will need to send us a voided check to have your monthly dues drafted.

Q: Are contributions to the RPFFA tax deductible?

A: The RPFFA is a 501c5 non-profit organization. Some contributions are tax deductible while others are not.  Check with your tax preparer and the IRS’s webpage concerning 501c5 organizations.

Q: Does the RPFFA solicit donations for the continuation or improvement of services provided by the Raleigh Fire Department?

A: No.  We do NOT solicit donations of any kind.  We "sell" concert tickets.  Our only affiliation with the Raleigh Fire Department is by virtue of our  employment.  ____________________________________________________________________________________________

Q: What is the difference between soliciting donations and selling concert tickets?

A: A contribution is considerend a "dontation" when you give and receive nothing in return.  The RPFFA "sells" concert tickets.

Q: Why is the RPFFA selling tickets to a musical show rather than just soliciting donations?

A: Because we do not solicit donations.  We produce and sell tickets to a family oriented musical show.  If you do not wish to purchase tickets to our musical show, but would still like to support the efforts of the RPFFA, please call our office at (919) 714-7944.  The musical show is intended to be a reward for our supporters.

Q: Why does the RPFFA donate to local charities?

A: Because it’s the right thing to do for people who need help and that’s what we do... firefighters help people. Firefighters witness a lot of tragedy on a daily basis. We’re an active part of the communities we serve and we want to give something back to help those in need. Individually we lack the financial means to make a significant impact. Collectively, along with you the supporters of our fund raising musical shows, we have made a difference in many lives and we hope to affect many more.

Q: I have children.  What age is appropriate for the RPFFA musical shows?

A: All ages are welcome. The musical shows are by design family oriented. We like to begin building our base of supporters from a very early age. J
